Offshore Duties

Greetings from Sitiawan, Perak. For those who are wondering where this is, it's a small Foo Chow town next to Lumut, the transit point for anyone wishing to go to Pangkor Island. It's not a bad place, theres good food and nice people plus it's not as outdated as most people may think. However, it's not really for me... Think about it this way, anytime you get too stressed out and need a place to run away to and relax, think Sitiawan. Good in small doses in other words...

WARNING! LONG POST AHEAD!

Actually, I was planning to update earlier, but there was an incident that took greater priority. The key words to this incident are mainly "car", "accident" and "parents". Thankfully, words like "safe" and "nothing happened" are also words that will be used when telling this story. However, I don't really think it's appropriate to go into detail about this...

Oh ya, nearly forgot, I recently took over my mum's phone, a Sony Ericsson G900. It's basically a business class touch screen phone which takes quite a bit of getting used to as most of the functions are only accessible using the touch screen, which is the main reason my mum gave it up. Not that she doesn't know how to use it, it's just that she doesn't really use all the functions and she prefers a simpler phone. Moving on, this new baby has got a decent 5MP camera so my blog is finally going to have pictures! Also, the media browser is not bad and the provided earphones are quite good actually. Only problem is that the screen, like any other touch screen device, is an absolute fingerprint magnet. Hooray for mini reviews...

Took a short drive down to Lumut yesterday and well, it's safe to say that it was a rather big disappointment. I expected it to have more of tourists (It did, but most of the 'tourists' were local apart from a few stray Japanese people) and action. In other words, I expected the town, if you can call it a town, to be more exciting. The most exciting thing I saw there was dried seafood and God, there was a lot of dry seafood... Was looking around for something special for a special someone (You know who you are =D) too but I don't really think that dried prawns or squid balls scream "I Love You" to a girl. I did however get a look at some clothes that might do the trick, but they cost at least five times the amount that they would cost in a normal shop back in Kuala Lumpur. So, needless to say, the Lumut trip was completed in a measly 30 minutes...

DSC00156That’s right, more seafood!

As for what I've been doing since I last posted, well, I've been playing excessive amounts of Treasure Madness on Facebook (Thank God I'm living in a house with a good internet connection). There are other activities available such as eating and gambling, but after the first few days, both my stomach AND my wallet are screaming for mercy...

Desktop Update: It arrived two days AFTER I left KK... So, I had my bro Jimmy pick it up for me (Thanks Jim...) as I don't really trust people who say one week and actually take two to safely hold on to my baby. Those idiots...

Well, it's time to lose more money now, so, till next time, play hard!
