Just wanna announce that finally, I got a dog! Not many people know this but I've been wanting a dog for years. So, now I'm very contented with my 8 week old, black Mixed Golden Retriever. We just got him yesterday and he already warmed up to the house. At first, he was quite terrified that he was put in a box, carried, then put in a car, driven, given a bath then carried back into the house. Okay, that does sound kinda scary if it were done to you by strangers. But, the point is, that we decided to name him "Courage", stealing this name from the not-so-popular cartoon show, 'Courage, the Cowardly Dog'.
With this dog, I've also realized that dogs drink really large amounts of water. The problem is, big input equals big output. There were two puddles of innocent looking 'water' on the floor this morning that I was given the pleasure of cleaning up. Add to that the fact that the mop bucket in my house broke a few days ago, let's just say, I had to 'get my hands dirty'...
Now, the main thing is to buy a mop bucket for the pee and train him where to shit, with emphasis on the training...
Anyway, shit and pee aside, I am very happy with him. Courage seems to always be excited to see me or anyone for that matter. Anytime you open the door to see him, he's there waiting, tail wagging, for you to give him a good rub. Now, all I'm worried about is whether or not he will remember me after the 3 or 4 month gap when I go back to Kuching to study...
Also, I'm open to any and all tips about how to raise a dog (Training, Feeding, etc...) from anyone. I'm kinda new to the whole 'owning a pet' thing so help me out guys!
